AWF is seeking a Driver to provide logistical and clerical support to its Conservancy operations at Manyara Conservancy. The successful candidate will offer logistical support services including driving and handling of routine office functions. These include and are not limited to driving, errands, office clerical duties, office logistics and organization; undertake office assignments, assist with logistics and ensure proper maintenance of the vehicle assigned together with the other facilities and equipment.
Key responsibilities:
The primary role of this position is to offer logistical support services including driving and handling of routine office functions. These include and are not limited to driving, errands, office clerical duties, office logistics and organization; undertake office assignments, assist with logistics and ensure proper maintenance of the vehicle assigned together with the other facilities and equipment. On a day to day basis this will include providing driving services to the Conservancy team or other assigned executives/staff/partners. Ensuring that the vehicle mileage logbooks are regularly completed, approved and submitted for accounting in time, staff and partners receive the necessary logistical support to make their trips successful, assisting with data collection i.e. mapping- through the use of a GPS, socio-economics survey and taking pictures as needed. Providing support to the line manager by following up on other activities as requested, participating in Conservancy logistical planning activities, assisting in field workshops and trainings by having all the necessary materials available. This position will be based in Manyara Ranch and report to the Conservancy Manager.
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of secondary school certificate or equivalent.
- A clean driving license with a minimum of 5 years of driving experience.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English, Kiswahili and local language(s).
- Good internet/email communication skills.
- Familiarity with remote areas of Tanzania.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- A mechanics certificate is an added advantage.
- Proven driving of 4WDs in parks and off-roads.
- Ability to operate office machinery e.g. scanners, faxes, binders.
- Willingness to undertake regular travel to remote locations.
- The ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
