Director of strategic engagement

Chemonics seeks a director of strategic engagement to perform a key leadership and management role for USAID's upcoming single award indefinite quantity contract IQC for the Commodity Procurement and Supply Chain Assistance project to perform a key leadership and management role. This project will provide a comprehensive array of services for U.S. government health commodity procurement and related supply chain assistance. It will be the primary vehicle through which USAID will procure and provide health commodities to partner countries and provide technical assistance to improve countries' management of the supply chain for such commodities. The project will consolidate the procurement and assistance components of the current USAID DELIVER and Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) programs, which support U.S. government global health initiatives in HIV/AIDS, malaria, maternal and child health, and reproductive health. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities​ include:

• Lead the project's engagement with international, host-country, and public and private stakeholders
• Ensure strategic coordination of programs with a variety of global health actors
• Understand and manage commodity market dynamics
• Support advocacy for pharmaceutical availability
• Collaborate with other USAID programs

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in health-related discipline required
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in global health programming 
• Experience engaging with programs supported by bilateral agencies, such as USAID, and other international agencies, such as the Global Fund, World Health Organization, the World Bank, and private foundations
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills; and proven diplomatic and public relations skills in a variety of cultural settings
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity​​​
• Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of French, Spanish, or Portuguese preferred
