The person will work closely with the Sub-Saharan Africa Software Marketing Leader in support of their business objectives and alignment with the strategic priorities of the business. This role is focused to Drive Market Development mandate and initiatives to support IBM Software Group (SWG) in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Provide insights about opportunity and IBM’s performance in the market to enable benchmarking and drive improvements
• Identify trends and develop insights about marketplace, including solution areas, competition, and channels
• Strengthen market development efforts by identifying and prioritizing high potential opportunity areas, highlighting new and best routes-to-market, and empowering sellers and business unit leaders through market insights
Market Development (MD) professionals help drive IBM actions by delivering trusted, integrated insights and recommendations that improve IBM performance and fuel growth.
In this role, the candidate will act as a trusted business advisor to the Marketing Leaders and Sales executives providing actionable recommendations based on market insights. The Market Development Advisor will provide timely and actionable thought leadership leveraging both internal and external business, financial, and market data to drive informed executive decision-making within our sales and marketing leaders across the globe.
Using consultative techniques, the Market Development Advisor will work directly with business leaders to identify root causes and recommend actions for the most pressing issues facing our business.
Successful candidates will be skilled at:
• Project Framing: the ability to clearly define the internal clients’ issue that leads to the appropriate project scope and planning.
• Understanding customer wants and needs: Ability to manipulate and integrate primary and secondary customer research, customer purchasing data, and internal IBM financial data
• Assessing the marketplace: Identifying emerging growth trends, opportunities and buying segments across various dimensions including: economic, technological, financial, cultural and other market segments, competitive, partnerships and alliances, and customer value attributes
• Evaluating IBM performance/execution gaps and developing actionable recommendations
Required
Bachelor's Degree
At least 7 years experience in Market analysis/research and Consulting areas and business advisory experience
At least 7 years experience in business solutions and services market and key players is highly desirable
At least 7 years experience in Strong knowledge and experience in the IT market and competitive landscape preferably
At least 7 years experience in Consulting techniques, research, analysis, creation of intellectual capital based on market and competitive analysis.
At least 7 years experience in Assessment of information, dissemination and communication of insights to key decision-makers.
At least 7 years experience in Market intelligence, Competitive intelligence, primary & secondary research
At least 7 years experience in Management consultancy/strategic consultancy/marketing
At least 7 years experience in Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
English: Fluent
Preferred
Master's Degree in Business/Management
