Position: Deputy Finance Director

WVE wishes to announce that we have vacancy for the above position. As an International Christian Humanitarian and Development organization, WVE delivers integrated programming in both emergency and development response initiatives throughout its 69 Area Development programs (ADPs) located in seven regional states of the country. The above immediate opening is for a professional with exceptional work skills and strong experience with complex financial portfolios at a senior level of leadership.
Scope of the work
The successful candidate will have extensive technical and management skills, aptitude, and interpersonal skills, to assist the Finance Director in providing strategic financial leadership. The successful candidate will be well versed in all aspects of financial management and is responsible for providing operational support for implementing processes aimed at managing financial and operational risk related to Financial Management. He or She will be responsible for supporting the Finance Director in overseeing the financial management at WV sub-offices and Area Development Programs throughout Ethiopia, ensuring that timely and appropriate support is provided to field operations and that the strong technical and financial reporting requirements/standards of the WV partnership are met.
Key Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the preparation of WV Ethiopia financial reports and analyses to enable the management to make strategic and operational decisions. • Coordination of the budget development process and ensuring regular budget control measures are implemented. • Risk management on contractual obligations and processing disbursements • Overseeing the management of Cash and treasury • Manage the capacity building initiatives for the NO finance teams • External and Internal Audits management • Oversee the management of the NO payroll management • Provide support in strategic planning and quality assurance

Qualifications:
Education/Knowledge/Technical
Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
• Holder of BA (Accounting) or any other Business related degree. • Holder of MBA Degree from a recognized University • CPA , ACCA, or its equivalent • Minimum of 10 years of experience in reputable organization, preferably an INGO or organization with complex financial systems. • Knowledgeable of grant accounting and experience with financial management of a diverse portfolio, including with key donors (e.g. USAID, DFID, UN etc.) as well as other funding sources from Foundations, private, etc. • Demonstrated experience in strategic management, results based management in financial matters. • Computer literate: especially in Sun Accounting systems, spreadsheets, Internet skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English language communication skills, good interpersonal relation skills. • Ability to manage performance of staff members, including plans for professional development of staff. • Strong team player and. • Demonstrable ability to work with minimum supervision. • Compatibility with WV's Mission, ethos, policies and core values.
Working Environment/Conditions: Office-based in Addis Ababa, with occasional travel to the field.
