SP has been working in Mabaan, Upper Nile since November 2011 conducting emergency response programing for refugees fleeing from Sudan. UNHCR estimates close to 120,000 registered refugees across four camps in Mabaan. SP currently supports the secondary health needs of the entire population by supporting Bunj Hospital, serving as the only surgical and secondary referral center in the area. Hospital services provided include surgical care, diagnostics, nutrition stabilization, Maternal Child Heath (MCH)/RI, inpatient care, and health education and training.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage internal budgets and grant budgets for SP medical programs in Bunj Hospital. • Write new project proposals as directed by emergency response, medical service expansion or increased service need. • Establish well-functioning administrative systems and supervision at the hospital. • Liaise and coordinate with government representatives, State Ministry of Health, other Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) staff, donors and partners regarding the advancement of SP programs in Bunj hospital. • Prepare and submit proper health facility and program reporting to SMOH, UN agencies, cluster leads, partners, and internal reporting. • Closely monitor program objectives and indicators to ensure that they are achieved. • Ensure quality programming through standardized use of guidelines and industry recognized protocols. • Build capacity of Bunj Hospital administrative staff through on-the-job trainings, and supportive supervisions. • Write and submit reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as needed. • Continually monitor and evaluate effectiveness of the program through quantitative and qualitative assessments. • Assist the facilities in improving data quality and utilization of data to improve services at facility level. • Attend daily morning devotions and participate in prayer support for the ministry, its donors and volunteers. • Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public • Assess, manage and report critical physical, emotional, or spiritual concerns of supervised staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ. • Registered nurse or Health Professional with a Masters in Public Health or Health Program Management. • One year of college-level Biblical studies is preferred. • 3-4 years’ experience in Program Management in Health & Nutrition in developing countries. • Experience in coordination with other international humanitarian organizations and UN agencies operating in complex emergencies. • Excellent management and personnel skills to enable the motivation, encouragement and participation of the medical team. • Experience in conducting assessments, program development and proposal writing. • Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation and health reporting. • Willingness to build local national staff capacity by utilizing training and coaching skills. • Ability to work in climatic extremes and in areas of conflict. • Arabic language skills preferred but not required.
12 month contract with potential for renewal.
