INTERNATIONAL TAX JUSTICE CAMPAIGN MANAGER Location: Johannesburg, London, Nairobi, Bangkok or Rio Base Salary GBP£45,489 (may vary by location)
ActionAid International is seeking an exceptional person to lead its exciting new global campaign on Tax Justice. With a new global strategy, which sets campaigning at the heart of our theory of change, ActionAid International has undergone significant transformation to ensure we can deliver on our bold new goals. As part of this, we are rolling-out a number of new campaigns across the ActionAid international federation. This has created a fantastic opportunity to be part of developing and delivering a truly inspiring and cutting-edge global campaign on tax justice.
The Tax Justice Campaign Manager will lead the strategic development, coordination and delivery of ActionAid’s new international Tax Justice Campaign.
The post-holder will lead the design and decision-making on the strategy and tactics of the global campaign. They will also be the primary spokesperson on the campaign to external audiences, including media and will play an active role in the building of alliances with other organisation to pursue the campaign objectives. The Campaign manager will coordinate contributions and skills from ActionAid countries and across the International Secretariat to harness the power of the Federation behind the campaign. This includes managing a diverse cross-functional and multi-country Campaign Project Team to develop and deliver the campaign strategy.
The role is responsible for the effective delivery of clearly identified external & internal objectives and outcomes for the campaign over the 5 year strategy period. The role will also ensure that the Tax Justice Campaign is consistent with AAI values and mission, while ensuring that it supports the delivery of key organisational objectives in the new ActionAid International strategy.
The Tax Justice Campaign Manager will also play a key part in working with the International Campaign and Advocacy leadership team in rolling-out ActionAid’s Campaign Strategic Framework.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in campaigning with a strong international campaigning background in both implementation ad strategic roles on issues strongly linked to the Tax Justice campaign. We require and incumbent who is an excellent communicator and skilled spokesperson that has an understanding of how to influence political structures and decision makers as well as the ability to represent advocacy messages with authority and credibility to the outside world.
At a personal level, you must have a strong commitment to a human rights based approach to development; champion women's rights and value working with diverse cultures and the poor and marginalised groups.
