TAX JUSTICE INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGNER Location: Johannesburg, London, Nairobi, Bangkok or Rio Base Salary GBP£31,617 (may vary by location)
ActionAid International needs a highly motivated campaigner to join our international campaign team. With a new global strategy, which sets campaigning at the heart of our theory of change, ActionAid International has undergone significant transformation to ensure we can deliver on our bold new goals. As part of this, we are rolling-out a number of new campaigns across the ActionAid international federation. This has created a great opportunity to join a newly configured campaigns team and to be part of delivering our new global campaign on tax justice.
The Tax Justice Campaigner provides specialised campaign expertise in ActionAid’s ongoing and emerging campaign on Tax Justice. The post-holder will coordinate, manage and deliver multi-country campaign actions, events and mobilisation activities, in order to meet the campaigns agreed objectives and targets. Working with ActionAid member countries and other International Secretariat stakeholders, they will ensure effective ownership of these activities across the ActionAid Federation.
They will support ActionAid countries with campaign plans and building capacity for more effective campaigning.
Working closely with other teams and functions within ActionAid, the post-holder will ensure that public campaigning and supporter strategies can reach large numbers of potential supporters.

Formally, you will have a relevant degree or post-graduate qualification as well as ample experience in planning and executing campaigns aimed at engaging the public and influencing decision makers. Experience writing and designing campaign actions and materials, using both online and print approaches.
We require a candidate with excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to translate complicated ideas into clear messages, and the ability to sell ideas, influence and persuade at all levels and across cultures. You must have the ability to communicate fluently (both verbally and in writing) in English, with fluency in a second language (particularly French, Portuguese or Spanish) highly desired.
On a personal level you must also have a strong commitment to a human rights based approach to development; champion women's rights and value working with diverse cultures and poor and marginalised groups, being aligned to ActionAid’s vision, mission and values.
The successful candidate may choose to be based in any of the locations mentioned however, only nationals and applicants who have the right to work in Bangkok may choose to be based in Bangkok.
