ROLE, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • The Protection Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate the implementation of activities related to Social Protection in the areas of activities. S/he is expected to use a participatory approach involving refugees representatives to identify needs, design, implement and facilitate activities which develop a sense of community and strengthen community support systems. • Awareness building and programming specifically focused on gender-related issues and children are emphasized as well as the needs of vulnerable groups in order to ensure equal access to protection and participation in the delivery of services and in community life in the camp setting. • Develop and implement capacity building strategy for Intersos national staff that prioritizes and enables program staff to develop understanding of protection problems and context analysis. • Support the formulation and development of protection strategies in the programme and their implementation in accordance with the mandate, strategies and priorities of the Organization; • Advise on and ensure the gathering, analysis, and reporting of protection trends and concerns affecting refugees and internally displaced populations as well as vulnerable host on a monthly basis; • Coordinate GBV and legal network activities in Sana’a; • Supervise activities related to legal, child protection, GBV and psycho-social assistance; • Participate to Protection Working Groups/cluster meetings and other donors’ and coordination meetings as required;
JOB REQUIREMENTS • Degree in Development Studies preferable; • Proved experience in Project Management in multicultural context; • At least 3 year experience with NGO in GBV / IDPs / psychology issues; • Good knowledge of international donors’ guidelines; • Perfect knowledge of spoken and written English is necessary; • Ability to work to tight deadlines, under-pressure and to respect deadlines; • Proven capabilities of personnel management and financial resources; • Comfortable with computer use. • Leadership attitude. • Problem solving and strategic planning capabilities. • Availability to move often through the Area of competence.
