Civil Society Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Fund Management Facility

URS is preparing to bid for the Civil Society Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Fund Management Facility (the Fund). The Fund will work with civil society organisations (CSO’s), research, advocacy and training institutions to ensure effective service delivery that leads provides access to sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for approximately 1.8 million people across Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
The overarching goal of the Fund is saving lives. The objective is to enhance the health and quality of life of the poor and vulnerable by improving sustainable access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene. The Fund will aim to strengthen partner country capacity, improve WASH coordination and governance, gender equality and the WASH evidence and knowledge base.
We invite expressions of interest from candidates who want to join our dynamic and committed international development team in one of the following positions:
Fund Manager (Job code 450). You need to:
• understand Australia’s aid program, key economic, political, social and cultural issues in development and whole-of-government policy; • have professional contract, sub-contracting and financial management experience; • be a competent aid program manager with service delivery experience; • understand and have practical experience with WASH issues in developing countries; • be a proven manager and team player who can operate across multi-stakeholder networks at every level; • be a highly effective communicator with well-developed representation, facilitation, negotiation and presentation skills; • demonstrate your ability and initiative to effectively manage a diverse workload with a keen focus on building and coordinating productive working relationships; • have strong interpersonal skills and be relaxed working cross-culturally; and
• understand and enjoy working with CSOs and participatory approaches.
Knowledge & Learning Manager (Job code 451). You need to:
• understand Australia’s aid program, key economic, political, social and cultural issues in development and whole-of-government policy; • understand and have practical experience with WASH issues in developing countries; • be able to develop a Monitoring and Evaluation plan and framework and manage systems and reporting for the Knowledge and Learning component of The Fund; • be a competent manager who can deliver an Innovation and Impact Fund grants mechanism including developing guidelines, calling for proposals, managing the selection process, developing appropriate grant agreements and ensure compliance and performance across the program; • have demonstrated experience in communicating WASH research and learning in a development context; • have management experience in delivering programs and events; • have proven experience to facilitate e-communication use web-based technologies for professional knowledge management purposes; • be a highly effective communicator with strong report writing, presentation and media skills; • understand and enjoy working with CSOs and participatory approaches.
