Tetra Tech ARD REDD+ COMMUNICATIONS AND RESEARCH ASSISTANT - FOREST CARBON, MARKETS, AND COMMUNITIES
Tetra Tech ARD (www.tetratechard.com) is accepting expressions of interest from qualified Communications and Research candidates for the Forests Carbon, Markets and Communities program (FCMC). FCMC’s two major deliverables include assisting countries with ambitious REDD+ plans by building capacity within those countries to achieve long-term net emissions reductions from forests and land use and contribute to the evolving REDD+ framework. This three year program focuses on four technical areas: Social and Environmental Soundness; Finance and Carbon Markets; Low Emission Development Strategies; and Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV). This full time position will be based in Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities: Collaborate across technical areas to lead integrated work, acting in a support capacity to the FCMC Communications Specialist. Activities may include, but are not limited to: * Coordinating, editing, and drafting language for FCMC Quarterly Reports (both for FCMC requirements, and PLACE IQC requirements) and FCMC Biannual Reports * Supporting and monitoring FCMC website, including posting content, improving layout and structure, and incorporating analytical data into official reports * Maintaining FCMC Distribution lists and listservs * Maintaining and drafting official brochures, PowerPoint presentations, and other project documents * Coordinating and maintaining template documents and letterheads * Undertaking research for concept and SOW development, drafting briefs for Task Leads * Developing country briefs and monitoring changes to major relevant programs such as the FCPF * Acting as central depository for research and background documents * Sending recurring updates to staff on relevant issues and developments in the field
Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree Required * High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and PowerPoint * Basic proficiency in Adobe Create Suite programs, especially Dreamweaver and Photoshop * Basic proficiency in website design and maintenance, including HTML and CSS skills * Willingness to learn additional graphics and communication software * Strong writing skills, and ability to adapt language for multiple audiences * Strong grasp of REDD+ related issues, and USAID as an organization * Good research skills, including databases and online search * Adept with formatting and editing documents; strong graphical skills * English proficiency required with proficiency in Spanish preferred; * U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is mandatory
