Tetra Tech ARD REDD+ OPERATIONS AND LOGISTICS ASSISTANT - FOREST CARBON, MARKETS, AND COMMUNITIES (FCMC)
Tetra Tech ARD (www.tetratechard.com) is accepting expressions of interest from qualified administrative and logistics candidates for the Forests Carbon, Markets and Communities program (FCMC). FCMC’s two major deliverables include assisting countries with ambitious REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation) plans by building capacity within those countries to achieve long-term net emissions reductions from forests and land use and contribute to the evolving REDD+ framework. This three-and-a-half year program focuses on four technical areas: Social and Environmental Soundness; Finance and Carbon Markets; Low Emission Development Strategies; and Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV). This full time position will be based in Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities: Provide operational and logistical support to the FCMC staff including, but not limited to, the following: * Basic office support functions, including mailing, copying, answering phones, and overseeing schedules * Management of procurement related tasks (and associated liaison with home office procurement staff), including petty cash, office inventory, managing receipts and deliveries, submitting purchase reports, and generating quotes for procurement of large goods and services * Work with Task Leads and home office staff to develop and manage bids for professional services and procurement, including the drafting of competitive bidding announcement * Note taking and participation in various staff meetings and events * Assist with document review processes, including editing and formatting * Managing and distributing Human Resources and Office Policy manuals, as well as overseeing new staff orientation procedures * Maintaining a file storage system and structure for internal office use and collaboration, as well as eventual project evaluation * Managing workshop and training logistics preparation and process, including: * Developing a work plan, budget, schedule and participants list with the Task Lead responsible for the workshop * Working with participants and Home Office staff to book international travel * Working with participants to make necessary visa arrangements * Coordinating event space and hotel accommodations * Work with the Task Lead to manage overall budget * Coordinate with participants on issues related to travel, transfers, per diems, etc. * Providing or arranging for on-site logistical support * Maintaining communication with participants and attending to their requests * Ensure compliance with USAID travel requirements
Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree Required * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Good interpersonal and communications skills * Experience in an administrative capacity and knowledge of office functions and technology * Ability to learn new processes and systems quickly * Strong writing and communication skills, as well as formatting and editing * Excellent organizational skills and ability to create efficient and effecting filing and other systems * English proficiency required with proficiency in Spanish preferred; * Experience in handling logistics, including internationally; * U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is mandatory.
