Established in 1971, Futures Group develops and delivers innovative, locally relevant, evidence-based solutions to improve the health and well-being of people around the world. We assist governmental and non-governmental agencies, foundations, and the private sector by designing, implementing and evaluating programs in HIV, sexual and reproductive health, population and family planning, maternal and child health, infectious diseases, and gender. Futures Group has deep expertise in policy and advocacy, research and strategic information, patient monitoring and management/HMIS, health markets and private sector engagement, modeling and economic analysis, strategic consulting, and program management.
Key Responsibilities • Build the capacity of local government civil society networks and organizations to engage in policy, advocacy, evidence-based decision making and planning in Tanzania • Provides technical advice to senior management regarding capacity building strategy and implementation plan for various target audiences. • Manage overall training and capacity building initiatives including but not limited to: Evidence based decision making; Mentoring of technical personnel; Managerial capacity building; and Systems strengthening • Create linkages and identify capacity of key stakeholders from community onwards to national level
Qualifications • Degree in social sciences, public health, public policy, or other directly related discipline • 7+ years of capacity building experience working in developing countries • Experience in capacity building, community mobilization, and government advocacy • Knowledge of laws related to the rights of the child, policies, and plans of Tanzania preferred • Experience working with and/or providing training and mentoring to local government, civil society organizations, including networks of people living with HIV, women’s groups, faith-based and private sector social welfare officers, and other non-governmental organizations
• Experience working with/for international donors, preferably USAID • Strong writing and communication skills • Must be conversant in English and Swahili
