The Commission of the African Union invites applicants who are citizens of Member States for the post of ELECTRO MECHANICAL ENGINEER.

Job Title: ELECTRO MECHANICAL ENGINEER

2. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Facilities Maintenance Unit, the electrical power system engineer will perform the following:
• Ensure the availability of electrical power for the facility by managing the high voltage andlow voltage side of the power supply system;
• Repair, maintain and operate standby generator sets, emergency power systems and UPSunits, Design energy efficient lighting systems and minimize electrical consumptions;
• Design and specify new electrical networks;
• Supervise, commission and certify outsourced electrical projects;
• Supervise the commission’s electrical technicians crew;
• Schedule preventive maintenance for electrical equipment and log their status.

• Liaise with other maintenance engineer to trouble shoot Building Automation
Systemproblems.
4. Qualifications :
A minimum University BachelorDegree in Electro-mechanics or Electro-mechanical engineer.
4. Professional experience required:
At least five years experiences as Electro-mechanical Maintenance Supervisor or 10 years’ experience as Electro-mechanical employee
5. Language Requirement:
Proficiency in one of the African Union working languages. Proficiency of one or several other working language(s) would be an added advantage.
6. Age Requirement:
Candidates must preferably be between 25 and 35 years old.
7. Tenure of Appointment:
The appointment will be made on fixed term contract for a period of three (3) years, of which the first twelve months be consider as a probationary period. Thereafter, the contract will be for a period of two (2) years renewable, subject to satisfactory performance and deliverables.

9. Remuneration:
Indicative basic salary US$27,892.00 per annum plus other related entitlements e.g. post adjustment (46% of basic salary), housing allowance (US$14,414.40 per annum), education allowance (75% of tuition and other related expenses for every eligible dependent up to a maximum of US$7,800.00 per child per annum), etc. for internationally recruited staff of the Commission.
