CRS/Rwanda is looking for a qualified individual with high profile in agribusiness, including experience with value chain promotion and development, farmer´s cooperative development, agriculture products storage and transformation to fill the position of Agribusiness Senior Officer. Agri-business is an area that CRS/Rwanda is highly valuing as a growth opportunity especially in terms playing a key role in supporting Rwanda Vision 2020 as well as other Rwanda development strategies through EDPRS. This is with a particular focus on rural development to improve lives of Rwandans.
At CRS/Rwanda, the Agribusiness Senior Officer supports the Country Program in general and the Agriculture and Food Security Unit in particular to strategically develop and implement programs activities related to Agri-Business with quality standards and norms, to promote market-oriented economic opportunities for rural vulnerable population particularly youth and women, and promote the appropriate use of cost-effective data management and ICT4D solutions to support Agribusiness.
This position is considered part of the senior staff team and offers competitive working conditions.
The successful candidate will at minimum have the following Oualifications and Skills:
- Minimum Bachelors´ degree in Agri-business, Rural Development, Agricultural Economics or related field plus 3-5 years professional experience in Agri-business.
- Demonstrated experience in value chain promotion and development, farmer´s cooperative development, agriculture products storage aid transformation, access to markets for farmers especially women
- Previous experience working with local partners organizations
- Demonstrated commitment to gender-responsive programming
- Strong leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in teams, to engage and motivate staff and solve challenges in an innovative manner
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) French would be an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work well with people, good judgment and committnent to CRS´ mission
- Ability to transfer knowledge through formal and informal training
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time
- Advanced computer skills - MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
