EngenderHealth is an international NGO and works worldwide to improve the lives of individuals by making reproductive health services safe, available, and sustainable. We provide technical assistance, training, and information, with a focus on practical solutions that improve services where resources are scarce. We believe that individuals have the right to make informed decisions about their reproductive health and to receive care that meets their needs. We work in partnership with governments, institutions, and health care professionals to make this right a reality.
EngenderHealth is seeking expressions of interest from highly qualified candidates for staff positions on an anticipated USAID-funded project to increase the use of long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) and permanent methods (PMs) in post-abortion care settings. The project will focus on supporting the development of scalable interventions in Tanzania and Bangladesh.
The Project Director, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, will be responsible for technical leadership, coordination and collaboration; and provide strategic oversight of project activities in Tanzania, Bangladesh and globally. S/he will be an experienced senior manager with an advanced degree in the health sciences, with at least 10 solid years involvement in leading, managing and implementing capacity building projects in developing countries. In depth understanding of maternal and reproductive health, excellent communication and facilitation skills, and demonstrated ability to network with USAID missions, Ministries of Health, and international and national partners, will be critical to achieving the project’s goal. Fluent spoken and written English required.
