MANAGER PLANNING AND INVESTMENT
18.1 Principal duties and responsibilities
• Heads the Planning and Investments Schedules;
• Prepares the budget for the section;
• Coordinates preparation and review of strategic plans, business plans, action plans and annual Corporate budgets;
• Coordinates the collection and processing of operations data;
• Coordinates the identification and acquisition of mineral properties;
• Coordinates preparation of annual and semi-annual performance reports, monitors and evaluates implementation of projects and programs;
• Monitors and evaluates implementation of plans;
• Undertakes contract work in value addition;
• Advises on investment opportunities, share acquisition and trading, industrial minerals exploration and exploitation;
• Analyzes techno-economic and feasibility studies and advices on investment opportunities;
• Coordinates the identification of prospective grounds for acquisition in liaison with the Geological Survey of Tanzania (GST) and the Minerals Division;
• Conducts open performance review and appraisal of subordinates and gives feed back;
• Develops individual objectives/targets and performance standards as part of individual performance agreement in
consultation with the immediate supervisor; and 23
• Performs any other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.
18.2 Professional Qualifications and Experience
Holder of Masters Degree in Economics or in Minerals or Mining Economics with minimum experience of 8 years, 3 of which must have been in a senior position.
18.3 Competence among others are:-
• Computer literacy is essential;
• Ability to communicate with excellent writing skills;
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Swahili;
• Ability to supervise and direct multifunctional professionals.
18.4 Remuneration
According to STAMICO schemes of service in the salary scale of STAMICO - Salary Scale SMC 9.
