MANAGER MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
19.1 Principal duties and responsibilities
• Heads the Marketing and Communication Section;
• Prepares market packages for the Corporation services and products;
• Guides technical personnel on sound marketing strategies;
• Identifies opportunities for marketing;
• Prepares annual marketing targets in collaboration with experts;
• Prepares and implements marketing annual plans and budgets;
• Coordinates the promotion of the Corporation’s goods and services through electronic and mass media advertisements, diaries, calendars, posters, logo and motto statements;
• Prepares, implements, monitors and evaluates corporate communication strategies;
• Coordinates and implements public relations and protocol issues of the Corporation;
• Enhances Corporation image through social contributions, sponsoring and participating in sporting and national events;
• Provides information and awareness to stakeholders and the general public on various activities, programs and reforms undertaken by the Corporation;
• Coordinates press briefings;
• Coordinates preparation of papers for workshops and conferences;
• Provides advice on preparation and production of technical articles and various documents for publication;
• Coordinates preparation and provides information for uploading in the website;
• Develops individual objectives/targets and performance
standards as part of individual performance agreement in consultation with the immediate supervisor; and
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the immediate superior.
19.2 Professional Qualifications and Experience
Holder of Masters Degree in Public Relations or Mass Communication or equivalent from a recognized Institution with minimum experience of 8 years 3 of which must have been in a senior position.
19.3 Competence among others are:-
• Ability to communicate with excellent writing skills;
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Swahili;
• Ability to supervise and direct multifunctional professionals; and
• Strong working knowledge of computer programs.
19.4 Remuneration
According to STAMICO schemes of service in the salary scale of STAMICO - Salary Scale SMC 9.
