The National Museum of Tanzania is a consortium of five Tanzanian museums whose purpose is to preserve and show exhibits about the history and natural environment of Tanzania. The consortium developed from the National Museum of Dar es Salaam, established in 1934 by Tanganyika governor Harold Mac Michael. Four more museums later joined the consortium, namely the Village Museum in Dar es Salaam, the National History Museum and the Arusha Declaration Museum in Arusha, and the Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere Memorial Museum in Butiama.
8.1 CURATOR II – (1 POST) RE-ADVERTISED
8.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Documentation of collections,
• Understudies Senior Curators,
• Carries out preliminary surveys,
• Helps in collecting information and specimen for researches and exhibitions,
• Write exhibits labels and helps in staging exhibitions and
• Perform any other related duties may be assigned by superior.
8.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science with minimum of second class in his field of specialization preferably Archaeology with a Diploma or Certificate in Museum Techniques and experience in collections management and care.
8.1.3 REMUNERATION
• Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institution’s salary scale. PGSS10/11
8.1.4 Age Limit: Not more than 40 years
