The Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) is a successor to the Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences (MUCHS), which was a constituent College of the University of Dar es Salaam. MUCHS was established by an Act of Parliament, Act No 9 of 1991, when the then Faculty of Medicine was upgraded to a College.
9.1 HEALTH LABORATORY SCIENTIFIC OFFICER II - (1 POST) RE-ADVERTISED
9.1.1 AREA OF SPECIALIZATION
Pharmaceutics, Parasitology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, pharmacognosy Hematology, Biological and pre-clinical studies, parasitology
9.1.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in research, consultancy and professional development program (PDP) activities in his/ her laboratory (department),
• Prepare manuscripts, laboratory practical and other relevant needs,
• Instruct undergraduate and postgraduate students during practical,
• Assist in planning research student’s laboratory /projects and consultancy activities,
• Responsible for all laboratory support activities for research, teaching and consultancy which require high level of technical knowledge and quality,
• Develop and modify student’s experiments and experimental rigns in consultation with academic members of staff,
• Liaise with academic and administrative staff on matters related to the respective laboratory,
• Responsible for plans and implementation and maintenance programs for all facilities for one’ laboratory,
• Participate in development and organization of training programs for junior staff in the respective laboratory and artisans,
• Advise on the planning and procurement of laboratory facilities,
• Responsible for the on job training of technicians and
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
9.1.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Degree or Advanced Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences as per area of specialization.
• Must be registered as Graduate Health Laboratory Scientific Officer/ Technologist by the relevant competent Authority.
• Candidate with some years of working experience will have an added advantage.
9.1.4 REMUNERATION
• Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institution’s salary scale PUSS 6
9.2 SENIOR ACCOUNTANT II – (1 POST) 9.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepares monthly trial balance and bank reconciliation statements,
• Prepare payment vouchers for monthly salaries and related staff benefits,
• Maintains debtors and creditors records,
• Prepares financial statements,
• Handles Revenue Collections,
• Prepares periodical and/or annual financial statements of Revenue and Expenditure,
• Develops and maintain an up to date transparent department,
• Develops policies and SOPs for accounts department,
• Prepares final accounts for external auditing and
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by one’s supervisor.
9.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• CPA (T) ACCA
• Bachelor of either in commerce,Accounting and Finance or equivalent qualifications.
• Working experience of less than four (4) years in a similar position in a reputable organization.
9.2.3 REMUNERATION
• Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Organization’s salary scales.PGSS 14
