Learning Center Project Manager - East Africa


LFS Financial Systems GmbH (LFS) is an advisory and management firm based in Berlin, Germany specializing in micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) finance. Its major clients include the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW), among others. In addition to the provision of advisory services to banks and non-banks in the MSME finance field, LFS has built a network of specialized small business banks for which it acts as the management company and holds significant ownership.
About the Job: 
LFS is seeking a Learning Center Project Manager. S/he will be responsible for the establishment of Learning Center for AccessHolding to which LFS lends support in the management of their network banks.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop a business plan for the Learning Center and identify and obtain financial resources;
  • Design program curricula in cooperation with the LFS learning and development department;
  • Assume overall coordination for the development of Learning Center courses (including learning objectives, contents, methodologies, and materials);
  • Coordinate and supervise physical setting up and equipping of Learning Center facilities;
  • Manage and coordinate the roll-out of learning events;
  • Review, evaluate, and further develop training courses;
  • Ensure communication and cooperation between Learning Center, AccessHolding, and local bank management;
  • Select and manage the Learning Center team;
  • Implement tracking tools to ensure the effectiveness and budgetary control of the Learning Center.
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in establishing and/or maintaining a learning facility (i.e., a corporate university or training center) in a commercial environment;
  • Evidence of successful project implementation across multiple locations;
  • Proven track record in the design and implementation of management development programs including curricula development, course design, and training delivery;
  • Fluent English necessary, working knowledge of French would be an advantage;
  • Readiness to travel at least 50% of the working time, with option for relocation at a later stage;
  • Work experience in a finance-related industry in developing countries an advantage.
