MULTI SKILLED TRADESPERSON , British High Commission , Tanzania


The British High Commission is seeking a Multi Skilled Tradesperson to join our Technical Works Team who are responsible for maintenance, health and safety issues at our residential properties. The Multi Skilled Tradesperson should be experienced and qualified to undertake various carpentry, plumbing and masonry work, and have a proven track record of high standard work.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Refurbishments of housing, apartments and offices including remedial work.
  • Repair works to roofing, brickwork, timber, and plumbing.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years experience of a building trade environment (Government - trade test 1). Environment (Government - trade test 1).
  • Knowledge of partition walls, suspended ceilings, window/door frame installation, roofing joists, flooring, shuttering, tank installations, bathroom installations, tiling, pipe work, pumps, drainage systems, gas installations, brickwork, block work, rendering, plastering, tape and jointing and concreting.
  • Ability to perform various jobs to a high standard whilst under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and work well within a team.
  • Good organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines and staff expectations in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Valid, clean driving licence is desirable.

Compensation package:
The gross monthly salary for this post is Tsh 1,146,055, plus a 10% matching contribution to a local pension fund. Medical insurance is also included.
