A. DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL MEDICINE& THERAPEUTICS
1. PACT PROJECT
PROJECT TB COORDINATOR- 1 POST- AC/8/318/12- (CHS)
Applicants should be holders of at least a Bachelor of Medicine& Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBChB) and a Masters of Medicine in Internal Medicine from a recognized university. They should also be registered with the Kenya medical Practitioners & Dentists Board with a valid practice License. Applicants with adult ART HIV training, research and /or work experience in HIV/AIDS care and treatment will have an added advantage.
Reporting to the Chairman, Department of Clinical Medicine & Therapeutics, through the CO- PIs, the successful candidate will be expected to oversee all TB related administration in the program. They will also be expected to assist in the coordination of technical activities including mentorship and supervision in TB prevention among other duties.
2. PACT- COE PROJECT
PROJECT DOCTOR- 1 POST- AD/8/319/12- (CHS)
Location: Nairobi
The Project Doctor will be responsible for coordination of the activities for implementation of quality, accessible and comprehensive HIV prevention, care, treatment and support in partnership with MOH and NASCOP.
The successful candidate will provide technical support for the implementation of HIV prevention, care and treatment; and TB/HIV collaborative activities; support mentorship and capacity development of service providers’ members, implementation of community programs and quality improvement systems.
Applicants should be in possession of a minimum of MBChB degree from a recognized institution and be registered with the MPDB and at least 3 years experience in HIV programming. Those with health systems related qualifications (MPH, Project Management, Health Systems Management or Epidemiology) will have an added advantage. Evidence of training in aspects of HIV Medicine will be required.

MONITORING & EVALUATION MANAGER - 1 POST-AD/8/320/12-(CHS) Location: Nairobi with frequent field travel
This position will be responsible for providing technical assistance to project partners in data collection, analysis and reporting in line with the GOK and Donor requirements. Specifically, the position will focus on developing the capacity of partners to collect, analyze and utilize data for all aspects of program implementation including planning and quality improvement; develop and execute M&E plans, understanding of reporting tools and project indicator definitions and development.
Applicants must have at least Bachelor’s degree biological or health sciences with at least 3 years experience in monitoring and evaluation. Those with advanced training in health informatics/biostatistics/public health/epidemiology/biometry will have a distinct advantage.
ICT SUPPORT ASSISTANTS – 2 POSTS- AD/8/321/12- (CHS)
Location: Nairobi with frequent travel
Applicants should be holders of a minimum of a B plain or equivalent at KCSE and a degree in Information and Communications Technology or Computer Science from a reputable institution and at least 2 years experience. They must have experience in database applications and programming, hardware support, and knowledge in web design. Those with training and experience in some or all of the following will have an added advantage:
JavaScript, C, C++, SQL, Php, Android mobile applications, Microsoft Certifications, .Net Framework technology, and CCNA certifications
The successful candidates will be responsible for any or all of the following duties:
• Provide technical support in hardware/software
• Work closely with team members to design, implement and launch innovative ICT applications for use in a healthcare environment
• Installation and maintenance of new hardware and software systems
• Implementation of backup strategies and, where appropriate, maintaining master copies of all relevant literature and software
• Preventive maintenance of hardware and installation of user software
• Installation and maintenance of electronic communication between different sites
• Diagnosing and attending to hardware and software issues as reported by users
• Assist the Systems Support Specialist and Network Administrator with day to day operational duties.
• Web design and maintenance
• Provide user operational support regarding IT equipment, demonstrations, upgrading of hardware /software, mobiles, laptops, switches, printers, photocopiers, telephones, audio visual equipment, portable data devices and mobile telephone.

3. CRISSP PROJECT
LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST- 2 POSTS- AD/8/322/12- (CHS)
Location: Kiambu/Kirinyaga
Applicants should be in possession a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory technology/science with a minimum of 2 years experience in a busy clinical laboratory and should be registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board (KMLTTB); and be computer literate.Those with HND in medical laboratory technology and at least 3 years experience in a busy clinical laboratory will also be considered. Additional certification in GCLP and laboratory quality systems will have a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will
• Perform quality assurance and quality control in the laboratory, leading to accreditation with internationally recognized standards.
• Participate in internal and external quality assurance programmes.
• Establish and maintain systems for implementation of laboratory activities: Planning introduction of new diagnostic procedures, monitoring and evaluation.
• Ensure quality procedures are maintained in the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases of specimens processing.
• Participate in development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Development of bio-safety programmes in the laboratory.
• Supervise and mentor Medical laboratory Technologists in satellite project laboratories.
• Implementation of commodity management practices to ensure regular and consistent supply of equipment and laboratory consumables.
CLINICAL OFFICERS- 2 POSTS- AD/8/323/12- (CHS)
Location: Kiambu/Kirinyaga
Applicants should be in possession of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution. They must have at least three years experience in HIV prevention, care and treatment; and have current registration. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive clinical services to clients. Those with good written and oral communication skills and computer literacy have a distinct advantage.
All the positions are full-time and on a one year contract renewable on satisfactory performance and mutual consent.

B. DEPARTMENT OF PAEDIATRICS & CHILD HEALTH
MEASLES VACCINE STUDY (MVS) PROJECT
PROJECT RESEARCH ASSISTANT- 1 POST – AD/8/324/12- (CHS)
Applicants should be holder of at least a BSC in Biological Sciences or related from a recognized university or instituion. They should have good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with other team members. They should also have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). They should be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, excel, outlook). Experience in Good Laboratory practice (GLP) will be an added advantage.
The successful candidate will be expected to:-
• Carry out routine specialized laboratory procedures;
• Perform isolation cryopreservation and archiving samples;
• Perform safe and effective delivery of samples to different laboratories and timely retrievals of data;
• Adhere to all laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs);
• Ensure laboratory results are entered accurately and in a timely manner on the report forms and into database and facilitate retrieval of hard copies of data as requested by Principal Investigators among other duties.
