Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
The Global Corruption Report (GCR) is a flagship Transparency International publication, bringing the expertise of the anti-corruption movement to bear on a specific corruption issue. Most recent reports have focused on corruption in climate change, the private sector, and the judiciary and the forthcoming report on education is near completion (publication February 2013). The next Global Corruption Report will focus on corruption in sport, and will by published in May 2014.
Main function: Contributes to the development of TI policies and knowledge products, playing an active part in the Anti-corruption Solutions and Knowledge Programme. S/he carries out research for and the writing and promotion of TI policy in publications and other outreach materials.

Responsibilities:
- Work with the Editor-in-Chief to conceptualise, develop and realise the GCR on sport.
- Mapping anti-corruption policy and other relevant networks/organisations.
- Develop public outreach efforts on TI policy/knowledge and support effective working and external audience impact of policy/knowledge and advocacy networks across the Movement.
- Promote on-going knowledge exchange among GCR-related thematic communities through face-to-face and online mechanisms (webinars, blogs, social networks).
- Contribute actively to the effectiveness of the Research and Knowledge Group, with specific on-going responsibilities to support integration of the GCR with related knowledge services and products provided by the Anti-corruption Solutions and Knowledge Programme.
- Support representation of TI publicly in selected fora and support fundraising proposals.
- Support the use of Monitoring Evaluation and Learning frameworks to foster effective use of TI policy and knowledge positioning across TI-S and the Movement.
Knowledge, experience and skills:
- Masters or equivalent in economics, political science, journalism, law or relevant subject (essential)
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience as an editor in the English language, preferably for publications with a strong policy focus (essential)
- Proven desk research skills on issues relevant to corruption, transparency and accountability (essential)
- Knowledge of and strong interest in working on corruption in sports issues (e.g. governance, match-fixing, licensing rights, mega-projects) (highly desirable)
- Experience of managing publication processes; working with copy-editors, proof-readers and publishers (desirable)
- Experience in the use of social media and networking tools to amplify outreach and impact (desirable)
- Experience of working on the development of policy messages and advocacy strategies (desirable)
- Experience in budget management and general project administration (desirable)
- Knowledge of and commitment to the work of Transparency International and the anti-corruption field (essential)
- Fluency in English (essential), working knowledge of French or Spanish (desirable).
