Project Background
The anticipated project will increase trade in key agricultural value chains through providing capacity building assistance to farmers and firms. The strategic approach will be aligned with USAID’s regional trade goals in conjunction with Feed the Future programmatic strategies for East Africa. The project aims to support trade competitiveness and create jobs through value-added exports.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, law, finance, public administration or related field required; Advanced degree preferred. •Prior international work experience required, along with a strong knowledge of USAID or similar donor-funded projects focused on trade reform and/or one of the above focus areas listed above. •Demonstrated expertise in trade policy, trade facilitation, trade promotion, customs, and/or institutional development. •Knowledge of regional and international trade agreements desired. •Fluency in written and spoken English required; Bilingual language capabilities (French) highly desirable. •Relevant work experience in the East Africa region required.
