PROCESS PLANT SECURITY COORDINATORS

Reporting to the Security Superintendent we seek to appoint three Process Plant Security Coordinators at our Bulyanhulu gold mining operation.
The purpose of this position is to maintain the Gold Security Standards and None Gold Security Standards, CCTV Security Systems of Bulyanhulu Gold Mine and coordinate the security of the process plant, refinery and CCTV Control Room and ensure that all security personnel are equipped, trained and qualified to perform their duties in an appropriate manner.

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Represent Bulyanhulu Gold Mine Ltd on the mine site as a Security Services/CCTV Coordinator
• Ensure that no Security Services member is in possession of a private fire arm or traditional weapon while on duty.
• Interact and participate with the Process Department, to ensure sustained development of a Safe and Healthy Work Environment on the Project Site and within the communities of contact.
• Coordinate and assist in the direction of activities of the Security Services Department.
• Ensure the necessary programs and reporting functions that will facilitate timely reporting of incidents are adhered to.
• Safe transportation of high value product and cash
• Attend a daily briefing with the Security Services Manager.
• Ensure that all BGML Mine employees follow BGML Mine security procedures.
• Arrange shift patterns ensuring all security posts are manned 24 hours a day.
• Ensure that the Security Services Guards are reporting pertinent matters that may affect the security of the site.
• To regularly patrol the site during the shift and its surrounds ensuring the security and safety of BGML Employee’s offices and properties.
• Maintain the high standard of discipline expected from all Security Services members.
 Liaise with the Security Services MIG section to ensure that the Security Services Guards are kept informed of any events/ actions that may affect the security of the site.
• Conduct regular and unscheduled visits to all areas in the plant site.
• Liaise with other Security Services Personnel and senior Tanzanian staff.
• Ensure that all posts are rotated on a regular basis.
 Carry out any instructions as directed by Security Services Manager or his dually authorised delegate.
 Ensure effective application of CCTV, and monitoring systems to reduce theft, identify procedural and Operation violations and health and safety issues. This application involves monitoring, detecting and analysing anomalies and incident conditions in risk areas within the Mine Lease Area.
 Engage in observation, visual analysis, trend and pattern analysis, and visual investigations during this implementation.
 Ensure effective communication and guidance of Security Services responses under incident or emergency conditions.
 Ensure the security system’s integrity is maintained

Specific Duties:

Gold Room Duties, Knelson concentrator duties and Mill duties
• Ensure no loss of product takes place.
• Supervise the control of access to the refinery.
• Complete searches of all workers inside Gold Room
• Occurrence book reports
• Ensure all items to and from the airlock are free of GBM
• Ensure compliance to the Barrick Gold Security Standards
• Ensure that the Knelson concentrator’s remains locked and secured.
• Ensure that any spare of item being taken out of the Knelson area has been washed and is clear of any gold bearing material.
• Will ensure that security is in attendance when any work is being conducted in areas where high value gold bearing material is likely to be prevalent.
• Will ensure that all operational areas where high value gold bearing material could be prevalent is properly cleaned before any maintenance work commences.

Plant Patrol Duties.
• Daily fence patrol and completion of reports
• Daily visits of entire Mill area
• Daily visits of workshop area
• Daily searches at PCC and CDC
• Daily Airlock searches, vehicles and equipment
• Weekly plant sweeps and searches
• Weekly Laboratory searches
• Weekly Locker searches
• Weekly workshop sweeps and searches
• Weekly Mill building sweeps and searches.

Shipment
• Fence patrols 1 hour before shipment commences.

CCTV Responsibilities/Reporting
• Shall be responsible and accountable for ensuring that non- compliances with procedures are reported without delay.
• Shall be responsible and accountable for maintaining, communicating and achieving all surveillance related reports.
• Shall report in writing on a weekly basis all incidents and or other non compliances to the Security Manager and General Mine Manager.
• Shall report in writing all incidents and or other non compliances of high priority to the Security Manager on a daily basis and to the Security Services Superintendents of any events/ actions that may affect their area of responsibility and security on site.
• Shall ensure that an updated surveillance manual is held within the surveillance room

General
• Supervise all Process plant maintenance activities during scheduled relining maintenance.
• Visits and on the job training of all process security officers inside the process plant.
• Any other duty on the BGML mine lease as requested by the Security Services Manager.
• Will ensure that daily key audits are conducted on high risk, medium and low risk security keys inside the process plant.
Gold Security Standard

• Assists with the implementation of the process plant security action plans within the security discipline.
• Assist with the monitoring and compliance by employees, contractors and visitors to the Gold security standard in all areas including the Refinery.
• Shall report in writing all instances of non compliance to the Process Plant Security Superintendent.
• Shall report in writing without delay non compliance incidents classified as mayor breaches of security to the Process Plant Security Superintendent or the Security Manager.
• Shall assist with training and coaching of guard force members.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Education Requirements:

• Some relevant tertiary qualification would be an advantage.

Experience Requirements:

• Extensive security experience at a supervisory level
• Police and/or Military experience preferred
• Proven and developed leadership skills
• Proven and developed administrative skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Unquestionable integrity
• Culturally aware
• An understanding of the Tanzanian government system
