- Work with the management of Ghazanfar Institute of Health Sciences (GIHS) to plan, manage and effectively implement the Midwifery Education Programme (MEP);
- Develop and implement detailed plan for trainings/workshops for midwifery teachers and clinical staff of selected hospitals for clinical teaching;
- Coordinate GIHS, MEP related activities with Institutes of Health Sciences (IHSs) management, Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), Afghan Midwifery Nursing Education and Accreditation Board (AMNEAB), Afghan Midwifery Association (AMA), donors, NGOs (national and international) and other stakeholders to move the programme forward;
Conduct internal assessment of GIHS, MEP and coordinate with AMNEAB for this purpose; - Organize and conduct trainings for GIHS midwifery teachers to build their capacity and increase the pool of national master trainers;
- Work toward overall quality improvement of the programme;
- Organize and conduct consultative workshops to revise hospital midwifery curriculum, midwifery educational standards and policies; and implement these policies;
- Facilitate revision of Learning Resources Package for midwifery programme;
- Take the lead in ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the programme and bring subsequent changes in programme activities to improve the impact;
- Conduct regular meetings with GIHS Midwifery Team and Clinical Coordination Team of selected hospital for clinical teaching;
- Conduct networking coordination meetings to strengthen and share experience with other midwifery educational institutions in Kabul Zone;
- In consultation with GIHS management, organize graduation ceremonies and job fairs for graduating midwifery classes;
- Ensure maintenance of accurate records regarding programme achievements and activities;
- Prepare report on quarterly basis and as per requirement by donors and submit to Head, AKU-PA and Director International programme at AKU-SONAM;
- Conduct annual appraisal of subordinate as per standards formats;
- Any other task given by the supervisor.
