Editor/ Project Specialist, Communication and Publications.
Responsibilities |
This role is responsible for overseeing and editing the print and online material for Aga Khan University, in East Africa. The Editor will coordinate with staff writers, freelancers and independent contractors on content for a variety of academic, public relations, marketing / advertising material, to ensure that all content meets accuracy, consistency and University style requirements.
The Editor will also work with a creative team and provide design briefings, review layouts and finalize material for printing or web publishing. |
Requirements |
- Extensive experience working with non-profit and voluntary organizations with at least 8-10 years of editing experience, editing a variety of communications and public relations, marketing / advertising material
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge and ability to use InDesign software and CMS systems would be a plus
- Proven technical skills, specifically with the Internet and websites. Experience with Social Media as a marketing and communication tool would be a definite asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with superior skills in English grammar, punctuation, proofreading and narrative flow
- Proven ability to focus in a demanding environment while maintaining superior attention to detail and a keen sense and appreciation of design
