We are seeking an outstanding and values-orientated individual to lead our team in Tanzania to even greater heights. Working closely alongside the Country Director to oversee all 5 organisational directorates (Strategy & Direction, Operations & HR, Finance & Administration, Fundraising and Partnerships, and Programme Quality), as well as to contribute to the development of strategic partnerships, this role will suit a talented individual who is ready to take a step up into a senior leadership role within a dynamic and ambitious organisation.

ABOUT OUR WORK IN TANZANIA
With 66% of the population under 25 coupled with high fertility rates, Tanzania will soon be experiencing the youth bulge.
We’ve been in Tanzania for the last twenty years, growing, changing and responding to the most urgent issues facing young Tanzanians. Our work in Tanzania has been cited best practice for our unrivalled methodologies by theWorld Bank[1]and UNICEFand we are this year winners of the 2014 Resolve Awardfrom the Global Leaders Council for Health. Directly reaching over 110,000 young people across 14 regions each year, it is our young volunteers and youth led networks that lead and deliver transformative change.
Today, we address some of the biggest issues on the table including: the role of young people in the constitution and election process, unemployment, adolescent girls, and development beyond 2015.
Over the last 12 months our work has contributed on the ground to:
· 53,785 young people accessing sexual reproductive health programmes and services
· 11,701 young people accessing civic education and advocacy training, with 6,966 of them engaged in the constitutional review process
· 5,100 young people trained on how to set up their own business and as a result 2,431 micro-enterprises have been established.
Behind the numbers, we are influencing from the local level upwards taking up the position as the leading expert to government, donors, and civil society on young people. This has included:
· Our second annual Youth in Tanzania Today Report providing a snapshot of young people’s development from across the country;
· Convening 150 young people, 17 local government actors, and 4 members of the constituent assembly to review and dialogue on the second draft constitution in Dodoma;
· Close partnership within the Ministry of Information, Youth, Culture and Sports.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Our next Head of Restless Development (Tanzania) will build on a successful legacy from our outgoing Head to ensure the highest standards in performance and accountability are achieved across the agency in Tanzania. Based from our Head Office in Iringa (with regular travel to Dar and other operational locations), you will ensure our team of 40+ staff spread across four locations is delivering to the highest operational standards as are required by our strategy, business plan, and annual operational plans and budgets. You will join at an exciting time in which we will be evaluating the success of our current strategy, and working closely with the Country Director, Management and Board to develop our next strategy and business plan beyond 2015.
Working under the leadership of the Country Director, you will drive internal performance through the management team and our business units (strategy and direction, finance and operations, people and performance, programme quality, and fundraising) to meet or exceed the targets set against our strategy and business plan.
The successful candidate will be highly systems and process oriented, ensuring that up to date information is available, analysed and acted upon by the management team to address agency level risks and challenges to performance of the business units. The individual must demonstrate the leadership behaviours we expect to see in our Heads (see our Values below), and able to instil a culture of performance and values based leadership across the whole team. The individual must be proactive and solution oriented, able to deputise for the Country Director, and could be a potential Director for Restless Development in the future.
