Position: Transport Officer III (Administrative and General
Services) – 1 Post
Reports to: Head of Division.
Contract Type Contract for an Unspecified Period of Time
Location: Head Office, Dar es Salaam.
Job Purpose:
To provide transport services to Bank of Tanzania staff and official guests so as to facilitate Bank’s operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Providing/facilitating transport for Bank of Tanzania employees and guests;
b) Preparing annual requirement specifications for motor vehicles and motor cycles in accordance with the Bank’s transport policy and procurement plan;
c) Preparing purchase orders for motor vehicles, motorcycles, tyres, lubricants and other parts;
d) Updating Bank’s motor vehicle records and preparing fleet performance report for management decision;
e) Identifying and consolidating list of motor vehicles and motor cycles that qualify for disposal in compliance with the Bank’s Financial Regulations;
f) Coordinating provision of fuel and lubricants for Bank of Tanzania Motor Vehicles;
g) Arranging for and supervising maintenance of motor vehicles;
h) Preparing requisitions for purchase of tyres and lubricants;
i) Preparing monthly reports on motor vehicle and motor cycles maintenance;
j) Inspecting log books and controlling fuel consumption and movement of motor vehicles and motor cycles and fuel consumption;
k) Safe keeping of motor vehicles’ key and registration cards;
l) Performing other related duties as assigned by Head of Division.
Education/ Professional Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Bachelor’s Degree in Transport or Logistics Management or its equivalent;
b) Knowledge of and experience in coordinating transport and maintenance of motor vehicles and motor cycles;
c) Analytical and problem solving skills;
d) Ability to work independently and under pressure;
e) Excellent report writing and presentation skills;
f) Ability to lead people;
g) Ability to work as part of a team;
h) Computer literate;
i) A minimum of three (3) years of relevant post-qualification experience in a busy environment.
