Job Description
Based in the EQUIP-Tanzania Head Office, you will deliver the day-to-day information and communication requirements of the Programme, proactively identifying opportunities to support Programme outputs, following and revising the Information and Communication Strategy under the guidance of EQUIP-Tanzania’s International Communication Adviser.
- Manage the information and knowledge produced across the Programme, identifying and creating case studies that communicate learning from Programme activities
- Work with managers and technical advisers to understand their communication requirements in achieving Programme outputs, proposing, agreeing and supporting creative ideas to deliver these
- Liaising with counterparts in PMO-RALG and MOEVT, and other EQUIP-Tanzania partners such as Civil Society Organisations, to ensure communications activities are coordinated
- Oversee EQUIP-Tanzania’s visual identity ensuring that presentations and publications adhere to consistent, high quality standards
- Maintain EQUIP-Tanzania’s website, ensuring it is always up to date, drafting and uploading information and resources that creatively and succinctly communicate programme priorities and outputs
- Manage media relations to generate public support for reform, building understanding of the Programme and its objectives, identifying opportunities, drafting news releases, and engaging them in campaigns and initiatives
- Draft, design and print documents and publications
- Manage and deliver EQUIP-Tanzania’s campaigns, developing messages and materials, commissioning media, and working with a range of stakeholders to devise tactics to engage, motivate and achieve behaviour change
- Build capacity for effective information and communication, supporting training and producing guidance for those working with stakeholders
- Create and maintain an activity plan and budget listing all information and communication outputs, and produce quarterly updates on outcomes achieved
Candidate Specification
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Educated to degree level, a relevant qualification in marketing, social communication or public relations is highly desirable
- Experience in a programme environment able to demonstrate experience of working in or with sector development programmes
- Knowledge and/or experience of government.
- Experience in creating, commissioning and producing designed materials, websites, radio and film and developing compelling campaigns for stakeholders and the public
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to create compelling copy from technical information and draft news releases
- Able to manage and organise own work with a high degree of proficiency in computer skills and planning
