Marie Stopes Tanzania (MST) is the Non-governmental Organization dully registered under the law of Tanzania, and it is centered in a marketing-focused, results-oriented social enterprise, which uses modern management and marketing techniques to provide family planning, reproductive and sexual healthcare and allied services. MST is a member of the Marie Stopes International (MSI) Global Partnership, which operates in over 46 countries worldwide. MST’s goal is to improve quality of life in Tanzania by dramatically improving access to and use of family planning and other reproductive health services.
Of recently, MST has been striving to secure funds from donors for implementation of its cantered objectives. The effort by MST to secure funds from donors have somehow been positive where the donor has proposed a new and streamlined project to be carried attracting a diversified aptitude.
The positions advertised herein are subject to fund availability from the prospective donor and therefore after passing the interview, qualified candidates for the positions advertised shall be called to assume their position with MST as soon as the funds is finally donated and remitted to MST or deed of donation or remission is executed. This project will commence immediately after availability of funds is irrevocably confirmed by the donor.
We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our highly motivated team in the following roles;
EXTERNAL RELATIONS COORDINATOR
Job purpose
The External Relations Coordinator plays a support function role to the Externals Team and its other team members. This means that the post holder will be exposed to a broad range of functions and duties with opportunities to develop experience in many areas of external relations work. Core responsibilities include the effective design and maintenance of management and coordination tools; coordination support to the national sexual reproductive advocacy coalition and providing additional capacity in advising the External Relations Team on successful youth engagement strategies for both youth service delivery and advocacy activities. The External Relations Coordinator reports to and works closely with the External Relations Lead who may also be assigned the post holder additional tasks as required of the team.
Key Responsibility
● Supporting the External Relations lead and manage a new coalition of partner organisations advocating for improved access to sexual reproductive health including a focus on access for young people.
● Designing and maintaining coordination tools including event calendars, contracts databases and stock counting and help to ensure that all teams participate in regular updating.
● Supporting youth Mobilisation officer to establish and support clubs for sexual and reproductive health care in universities and other learning and training institutions for young people across Tanzania.
● Supporting the youth mobilization officer to ensure that new communication materials for young people are of high quality and attractive to young people.
Minimum requirements
● Degree in Mass communication/ or related field
● At least 3 years’ experience of advocacy/policy-related work, preferably with a national or international non-governmental organisation
● Knowledge of international and national policy on health, particularly Sexual Reproductive Health/Family Planning, a strong advantage
● Knowledge of key policy-makers in the health sector an advantage
● Experience of organizing meetings and events.
