Kahama Urban Water Supply and sanitation Authority (KUWASA) is an entity established to operate the reliable, affordable and sustainable Water Supply and sanitation service in Kahama Town. The Authority was established on 21st June 2002 in accordance with the water works Act, Cap 272 of 1997 which have been recently replaced by section 60 of the Water Supply and sanitation Act No. 12 of 2009.
The Authority is a semi- Autonomous under the Board of Directors in accordance with section 4(1) and (5) of the water work regulation of 1997.
The Authority is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced, dynamic, motivated, innovative and result oriented Tanzanians to fill the positions that currently exist in the Authority.
Reports:Technical Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Head of section responsible for planning, design and construction of water supply and sewerage network.
-Data collection analysis, system design and preparation of procedures for urban water supply and sewerage network.
-To carry out technical, economic, social and ,financial appraisal of a proposed project and make recommendation to the management.
-To prepare master plan for urban water supply and sewerage network.
-Establish water supply, sewerage and structural design standard and specifications for all development works undertaken by the water Authority.
-Recommend physical and financial performance targets for projects implementation in consultation with the technical manager.
-Ensure that proper construction progress records are kept and periodic progress reports are produced from each contract.
-Carrying out master planning for urban water supply and sewerage network. Asses design and supervise extension of water distribution.
-Carry out any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualification:
-Holder of a Degree or its equivalent in Water Resources/Civil Engineering. Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Tanzania.
-Computer literacy, preferably in one or more design and drawing programmes and must have strong negotiation and analytical presentation skills.
-At least 3 years working experience of which two (2) years must be in water sector
