INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Job Summary:
Under the overall supervision of the ICT Coordinator, this position will give extensive support in system maintenance of CARE Tanzania and assist computer users in their use of ICT solutions and services. The ICT officer will take responsibility for maintenance of ICT infrastructure. The position provides a full virus-protection scheme for the organization. The ICT Officer is also responsible for ensuring the integrity of the networks by the physical security of data through planned backup and disaster recovery procedures. The position requires keeping up-to-date with developments in the technical area and ensure ongoing personal development and learning.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
· Configuration and management of routers, hubs and switches
· Provide day to day system administration of servers in Local Area Network (LAN)
· Administration of computers that are connected to LAN
· Monitor communication between the head office and all sub offices that all LANs are running smoothly
· Install and provide technical support on CARE standard operating systems and various applications
· Review and test run all procured computers, printers and any IT related equipment before use or shipment to a program site.
· Identify hardware and software problems, assess and fix minor problems where possible.
· Liaise with repair service providers where external specialized diagnostic/repair services are required.
· Manage appropriate preventive and maintenance contracts and ensure that preventive maintenance is done on time.
· Monitor performance of the main UPS and perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance and on timely basis organise for preventive maintenance and support from the contracted vendor.
· Support and assist users in their use of computer software and hardware
· Provide users with guide once a system has been completed and installed.
· Provide a full virus-protection scheme by installing anti-virus software and ensure distribution of updated anti-virus files to computer
· Perform data backup according to disaster recovery plan and procedures.
· On timely basis test-run disaster recovery plan make users aware of different backup and restoration procedures and give appropriate guidance to first time users of backup devices.
· Practice a behaviour that is consistent with CARE’s core values and promotion of gender equity and diversity goals.

Qualifications (Know-How)
Education/Training
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology equivalent combination of education and work experience
Desired:
· Certification in Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
· Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
Required
· Minimum of three years of experience in computer systems administration, setup and troubleshooting in network environment, including multiple network.
· Hands on knowledge of CISCO network devices is an added advantage;
Desired:
· Familiar with Administration of Financial Information system and budgeting Information system, Payroll Package and Human Resources Management Information System is an asset;
Technical Skills
Required:
