Leadership
The Head of Spirits role will be responsible for the establishment and leadership of a specialized spirits commercial organization encompassing planning, distribution management, sales, customer marketing and brand building.

Purpose of the Role
The Head of Spirits role will lead the commercial strategy for the spirits business. This includes designing and resourcing a winning Route to Market, constantly monitoring and evaluating the RTM, distributors and team performance and proposing deliverable actions, plans and initiatives for improvements and growth. The role holder will initiate and take leadership in implementing motivating incentives and promotions across the entire value chain to deliver exceptional results for the spirits portfolio.
The role holder will also champion the S&OP process for the spirits portfolio and build collaborative relationships with various stakeholder functions including Finance, Production, Marketing (Brand teams and Innovation), Distribution and Regional Field teams.

Key Accountabilities
Design a winning spirits-centric RTM for the market.

Ensure implementation of the Spirits distribution contract KPIs with distributors.

Identify emerging trade trends and insights. 

Implement strategy to communicate anti competitor plans and activities. 

Lead the delivery of outstanding consumer interactions and brand experiences.

Leverage market data and trends to generate insights to unlock the growth potential for the SBL spirits portfolio

Coordinate stock order levels for sprits between production and the warehouse (S&OP)

End to end management of all aspects of the value chain.

Ensure compliance with the Diageo Code of Business Conduct and Ways of Working.

Desired Skills & Experience

A Bachelors degree in a relevant field

At least 5 years experience with a strong track record in people management &/or commercial role within a consumer goods environment.

A strong track record in Sales at a senior management level ideally with experience in at least two areas of Sales. Particularly critical is previous experience in a customer-facing role either in Field Sales or Account Management.

The spirits portfolio comprises offerings from the world-leading Diageo stable of brands led by the core range comprising
Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Bailey’s, J&B and Gordons.
