IBTCI is currently seeking a Food Security Specialist for a multi-year award IDIQ for USAID for Water and Development (WADI). This Project will provide a broad range of technical assistance to USAID’s E3 Bureau of Water. Through this IDIQ the Office of Water will facilitate Missions’ access to cross-cutting services in the water sector, including Data Collection and Management, Assessment and Analysis, Strategic Planning and Program Design, Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening and Performance Monitoring and Evaluation for the implementation of their field programs.
Specifically USAID hopes to achieve the following strategic objectives:
- Improve health outcomes through the provision of sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
- Manage water in agriculture sustainability and more productively enhance food security.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will be used throughout the life of IDIQ depending on needs of specific projects. The Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support to program implementation in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Soil and Water Conservation
- Irrigation and Drainage Management
- Agrometorological Forecasting
- Vulnerability Analysis
- Freshwater and Marine (Nearshore)
- Fisheries Management
- Freshwater and Marine Aquaculture
- Livestock
- Poultry and Horticulture
- Fisheries and Coastal Ecosystem Management
QUALIFICATIONS
- An advanced university degree in relevant subject areas, preferably in Food Security Management or relevant field.
- The candidate should have overseas development experience, familiarity with international development work
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience in one of the listed technical areas above
- Fluency in English
