Chief Accountant , Puma Energy - Dar es Salaam
Main Purpose Provides overall administration, supervision and control of the financial accounting and reporting functions
Key Responsibilities Coordinates the issuance of regular and on demand financial reports such as: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows, Weekly and Monthly Margins, Inventories Reconciliations, Debtor and Creditor lists, Budget Reports. Key player in the preparation of the Annual Financial Reports including financial statements, notes and supporting schedules Supports the budget management process, development and control Reconcile accounts, post journal entries, and maintains a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with the accounting principles and reporting schedules so that the Company has a full and accurate statement of its financial position Schedules monthly tax payments, Income and withholding taxes and any other related matters Keeps control of such legal books and records of accounts such as: General Ledger, Sales Records, Purchases Records, and Inventory Coordinates, monitors, and executes independent audits, provides all necessary information for compliance on deadlines. Works closely with independent auditors in preparing schedules for annual audits
Desired Skills & Experience
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Excellent track record of successful career in Finance with at least 5 years experience in similar roles.
Familiarity with Oil industry especially in East Africa Ability to prepare and interpret complex financial reports
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Able to work independently and in a team, able to lead and provide direction to own team meambers
Aggressive and results oriented, pay attention to details
Working knowledge of ERP systems, knowledge of Navision is an added advantage
High computer literacy -Ms office packages especially Excel and PowerPoint
Demonstrate general business acumen
Demonstrate high level of integrity and ethics
