The Uganda NCD Alliance (UNCDA) is an alliance of Uganda Cancer Society, Uganda Diabetes Association and Uganda Heart-Research Foundation. The aim of the UNCDA is to contribute to alleviation of poverty in Uganda through combating NCDs. Our goal is to reduce morbidity, mortality and disability due to NCDs (cardiovascular diseases, cancers and diabetes) so that nobody should die from a preventable NCDs.
We are looking for an experienced leader and project manager who can give full personal commitment to promote prevention of NCDs and to give a voice to patients and survivors in collaboration with the board and the many volunteers who have committed them to the course.
The applicant must have:
A relevant university degree at masters level (e.g. business administration or social
science)
At least 3 years of experience in management and documented excellent skills in
management and distribution of work and strategic development
Documented excellent skills in project management
Documented excellent skills in administration, accounting and planning
The applicant must be an
Excellent collaborator and networker
It is an advantage to have experience from:
Civil Society
Fundraising
Lobbying
Working with volunteers
Working with international donors
The CEO will act as project manager for a Danish International Development Agency (Danida) funded project aiming at strengthening the capacity in UNCDA and create political support for prevention and control of NCDs and general awareness about the diseases and the importance of healthy living in Uganda. The engagement will be on a 3 year’s contract renewable subject to performance and success in fundraising.
