TITLE: ASSISTANT FINANCIAL CONTROLLER JOB PURPOSE : The designated person will be responsible for advising the Administration Manager in matters pertaining to the finance and accounting functions of the Board and for providing effective administrative support and directing the finance resources of the Board. The person will also be responsible for financial and contractual planning, management and reporting of all KALB resources, according to international standards, and the finance and administration manual of KALB. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - To manage the financial systems and procedures of KALB, according to international standards, and which provide real time accurate financial information for sound managerial decision making;
- Draft budgets and financial paragraphs, and ensure timely submission of accurate periodical financial statements and reports;
- To plan, draft and financially manage procurement contracts;
- Supervise and coordinate the financial and accounting operations of the Board including but not limited to accounts receivable and payables, cash and bank. reconciliations, posting and reconciliations of ledgers, fixed asset schedules, payroll management and timely remittance of statutory schedules;
- Prepare all documentation required for external audits, assist in their execution and respond to audit findings;
- Ensure the organizations financial and internal control environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures.

Requirement: - A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance or related subject or a professional qualification as an accountant;
- A minimum of 4 years experience in accounting, finance or contract management;
COMPETENCES REQUIRED: - A self motivated and self managed person with impeccable integrity, who is output oriented, with the ability to work under minimal supervision, high pressure and to meet deadlines;
- High analytical capacity, thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail;
- Must have experience with financial analysis, reporting, cash flow analysis, budget development and forecasting;
- Full computer literacy with high proficiency in excel and accounting packages;
- Good networking, interpersonal, communication and reporting skills;
- Ability and capacity to communicate orally and written technical information in English.
- Must be comfortable with the team management concept and should be able to demonstrate ability to effectively manage several major activities simultaneously
- Must be able to exercise independent judgment, work in a busy environment and have good time management skills.
