The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is a leading global charity for research, teaching and information on international development, based in Brighton.
The Digital & Technology Cluster at IDS, whose core themes are digital citizenship, accountability and rights, digital government and service delivery, digital economy and jobs and digital environment, energy and resilience, are looking to recruit 2 Research Officers.
The individuals will help to lead, shape and actively contribute to the work of the cluster, and undertake research for a flagship report on the state of digital development issues. In addition the Research Officers will work on, support and develop cutting-edge research that will help to advance knowledge, shape policy and inspire practice around the possibilities and limitations offered by an increasingly digital world.
Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree related to technology, innovation or digital tools in an international development context, or equivalent work experience and authored or co-authored publications relating to digital, technology or innovation in development. Excellent analytical and synthesis skills are essential along with the ability to assimilate complex research and draw out key messages and implications for policy and practice.
Ideally applicants will be able to start on 01 April 2016
Salary: £24,788 - £37,024 per annum depending on skills and experience.
