Background
The National institute for Medical Research (NIMR) is a public health research institution in Tanzania, established by the Parliament Act No. 23 of 1979 as a parastatal organization Under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare with a mission to conduct, coordinate, regulate and promote scientifically and ethically sound, high quality health research and deliver evidence-based information that is responsive to the needs of human well being
The Institute is looking for qualified dynamic and motivated Tanzanian candidates to fill the following posts
Health Lab Technologists III– 3 posts
Holder of Form IV or VI National Examination Certificate and Ordinary Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a recognized Institution
A working experience of at least two years in health/Research related institution
Duties and Responsibilities
Solving testing problems of an advanced or novel nature
Developing new solutions to testing problems
Recognizing and defining testing problems and evaluating methods for their solution
Evaluating guides or possible alternative approaches to standards methods
Improving the efficiency and quality of a testing programs
Planning and conducting training programs for medical technicians and medical technologist students
Establishing standards and writing instructions for calibrating or standardizing instruments and equipment
Recommending the addition of new tests to the laboratory's service
