The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) is an independent, world class regulatory authority responsible for licensing, tariff regulation and quality of service regulation of the electricity, water, petroleum and natural gas sectors. EWURA has the following vacancies for which suitably qualified Tanzanian citizens are invited to apply.
ELECTRICITY DIVISION
Post Title: Clerk – Electricity Licensing Committee – 1 post
Duty Station: EWURA Head Office – Dar es Salaam
Reports to: Chief Electricity Inspector
Clerk – Electricity Licensing Committee will be responsible for carrying out all clerical works with regards to license applications and provide support to the Electricity Licensing Committee.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
i) Schedule quarterly and meetings of the Electricity Licensing Committee (ELC);
ii) Maintain records of all ELC proceedings;
iii) Prepare interviews for candidates required to be examined by the ELC or representative of the Authority;
iv) Issue application form for new or upgrading electrical installation personnel;
v) Issue and process standby generation application forms for own use;
vi) Verify documents submitted by applicants with respect to License requirements;
vii) Maintain electrical installation personnel licensing data base available in the registry book;
viii) Update the list of licensees and ensure posted on the website, and avail a soft copy to TANESCO and other stakeholders;
ix) Print pass cards and ensure they are signed and stamped with the licences before issuing them to successful applicants;
x) Record payment receipts, and liaise with Accounts Department on issuing demand notes to debtors; and
xi) Carry out any additional duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Superiors.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and experience:
i) Possession of Diploma in Records Management, Office Administration, Law or Engineering from a recognized Institution.
ii) Knowledge and Competence in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) application.
iii) No work experience is required; however familiarity with the relevant fields is required.
