Kigoma/Ujiji Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (KUWASA} is an Autonomous Utility which was established undersection 3(1) of Cap. 272 of 1997 as reviewed by section 60 of Water supply and Sanitation Act No. 12 of 2009. KUWASA has the overallresponsibility of operations and management of portable clean water supply and sanitation services in Kigoma/Ujiji Urban areaswithin the Municipality. KUWASA performs its duties under the pilot and supervision of the Executive Board of Directors with functionsand responsibilities well stipulated in the Water Works Ordinance and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Non Revenue Water Engineer-1 post
Organizational Relationship
Reports to: Technical Manager
Principle duties and responsibilities;
1. Reporting to the Technical Manager
2. Head of Section responsible for sectional administration issues on day-to-day basis.
3. Primarily responsible for the implementation of a leak detection programme to reduce the physical and metering losses in the distribution networks
4. To ensure that the non revenue water levels are within acceptable levels in accordance with acceptable guidelines for nonrevenue water reduction and sound engineering and management practices.
5. Maintains proper records of water network inventory and monitors all factors affecting the network.
6. Liaison with Customer Service Section in handling customer complaints relating to water supply.
7. Carry out studies for water losses and recommend the corrective measures to solve the problems.
8. Responsible for curbing technical losses of water through leakages, breakages, system overflows etc.
9. Responsible for curbing Non Revenue Water (NRW) scientifically.
10. Implement district metering programmes and carry out steps to ensure accurate night line readings are obtained in order to
identify leaks in different zones.
11. Ensure that the bulk metering devices are calibrated or replaced so that accurate production or supply zone data is measured
accurately.
12. Implement appropriate consumer metering programmes to ensure the metering losses are minimized.
13. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Technical Manager.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
A holder of Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Sanitary/Environmental Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized Higher Learning Institution.
Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Tanzania as a Professional Engineer.
Minimum of three years working experience as an Engineer in the Water Sector or in relevant field.
A strong ICT knowledge including AutoCAD or any other engineering application software.
Age Limit:
Not above 45 years.
Remunerations.
• The post carries an attractive remunerations package subject to work professional experience, qualifications and competencies.
• Attractive salary and fringe benefits as per the Authority's incentive scheme will be offered to the successful candidate.
• The remuneration package is set based on the Authority's (KUWASA) Salary Structure/Scale and it is KWA 8 per month for this post.
