MINING ENGINEER I (One Post)
5.1 Principal duties and responsibilities
Mining
• Prepares detailed mechanical engineering plans for the mines;
• Ensures mechanical works complies with specifications and safety standards;
• Participates in feasibility studies of new mines;
• Prepares detailed mining engineering drawings
• Identifies and recommends suitable mining method and mining equipment and machinery;
• Prepares detailed electrical engineering plans for the mines;
• Ensures electrical works complies with specification and safety standards;
• Prepares detailed civil engineering plans for the mines;
• Ensures civil works complies with specification and safety standards
• Prepares detailed mechanical engineering plans for the mines
• Ensures mechanical works complies with specification and safety standards;
• Develops individual objectives/targets and all performance standards as part of the individual performance agreement in consultation with the immediate supervisor and
• Performs any other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor superior.
5.2 Professional Qualifications and Experience
Minimum qualification is Bachelor of Science Engineering in relevant discipline (Mechanical, Mining, Electrical, Civil, Mineral Processing and Engineering Services) obtained from a recognized Institution with at least 3 years experience.
5.3 Competence among others are:-
• Ability to communicate with excellent writing skills;
• Ability to supervise and direct multifunctional professionals;
• Strong working knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft word, Excel, Publisher, mine and Mineral Exploration programs, and database programs.
5.4 Remuneration
According to STAMICO schemes of service in the salary scale of STAMICO - Salary Scale SMC 6.
5.5 Age Limit: All applicants must be below 45 years old at the date of application.
