Under the supervision of Africa Regional M&E Advisor and in line with the USAID Bureau of Food Security Feed the Future (FTF) Learning Agenda, The Learning Manager will guide and support the project’s learning agenda by contributing to the body of evidence that supports FTF’s results framework and end-goals through impact evaluations that address FTF Learning Agenda key evaluation questions, including Behavior Change Communication effectiveness and outcome assessments, and by documenting data quality improvement initiatives,
Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt tools to enhance documentation of Nafaka’s best practices and project learning
- Develop a learning and knowledge management agenda for the project staff to promote a learning culture
- Support data quality improvement process for project M&E data
- Design and support impact evaluations that respond to FTF Learning Agenda key evaluation questions
- Support effectiveness and outcome assessments for BCC and other project activities;
- Lead in refinement of data and repackaging of project information.
- Write complex documents including research designs and protocols, case studies and journal publications and actively participate in and contribute to USAID FTF knowledge hub, Agrilinks.org.
- Other duties as assigned.
Leadership
- Provide leadership and vision in the designing and implementing a learning agenda for the Nafaka project to increase agricultural productivity, competitiveness, and general food security.
- Represent Danya before stakeholders and oversee the implementation of Nafaka learning activities.
- Establish and maintain a productive relationship with key stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, community groups and project staff.
Management
- Work collaboratively with Nafaka project staff and Danya regional staff to ensure proper financial projections, reporting, spending, and compliance with project terms and conditions.
- Ensure all project deliverables are met on time and of high quality.
- Promote and support the dissemination of best practices among the project teams.
- Ensure the quality of technical deliverables under the learning agenda.
- Contribute to timely, accurate, and appropriate reporting of program activities and results to the donor, including progress reports and annual reports.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Master’s degree and 6+ years relevant experience
- Proven experience in Research, M&E with bias towards knowledge management and documentation
- Working knowledge of BCC
- A team player accustomed to building team capacity, delegating working teams, and developing communities of learning among project partners and counterparts
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills
- Strong change management, results oriented and decision making skills
- Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
