Every year Raleigh works with over a thousand young volunteers from around the world.
In June 2013, Raleigh’s Board approved its new Strategy, Sustainable Development through Youth Action. The Head of Safety and International Operational Support will lead the setting, monitoring, management and compliance of safety standards and be the focal point for the day-to-day support of behavioural and medical issues and the oversight of incidents and liaison with the field and relevant stakeholders. The role will also be responsible for the appropriate resourcing of the field staff, both paid and volunteers and manage the supply of logistics to the field when required. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Recruitment & Delivery to ensure the required recruitment and training of volunteers; with the Head of Programmes on quality standards and skills required; and with HR on paid staff recruitment and training.
As a senior leader in the organisation and a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the Head of Safety & International Operational Support will be a key player in delivering the strategy of the organisation, helping to create the culture that is required and building on Raleigh’s positive reputation and its financial and administrative performance.
Salary: Circa £45k
