Log Sorting Line Operator , Sao Hill Industries Ltd

Position Description:
Location:Sao Hill Industries Ltd, Mafinga, Iringa, Tanzania.

Contract Type:Permanent and Pensionable.

Work hours:Full-time

Department:Production.

Reports to:Log Sorting Line/Kiln and Joinery Factory Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to Log Sorting Line! Kiln and Joinery Factory Manager, the selected candidate is expected to,

Assist in coordinati.ng the Log Sorting Line Operations which involves offloading of trucks, sorting of logs, stocking of logs and transfer of logs to the Sawmill(s).

Ensure Log Sorting Line parameters are correct at all times and that; logs are being allocated to the correct pockets.

Ensure logs are well organized in their respective pockets and stock buffers.

Ensure periodic maintenance of the line equipment is done and report any faults/breakdowns to Log Sorting Line Manager.

Assist Log Sorting Line Manager in preparing daily reports and ensure report data is accurately captured and recorded.

Be responsible for the lubrication and greasing of the Log Sorting Line.

Take responsibility for all Log Sorting Line Operations in the absence of the Log Sorting Line Manager.

Perform his/her duties in accordance with health and safety standards.

Perform any other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the Log Sorting Line Manager and the General Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate shall have:

A Certificate in Mechanical Wood Industries or any other related qualification.
