ALIMAK SHIFT BOSS / TRAINER
African Barrick Gold’s Bulyanhulu Gold Mine in Tanzania seeks to employ an Alimak Shift Boss/Trainer. The successful incumbent will provide leadership and direction to the operational mining team to ensure compliance with safety, environment and security standards, and optimize safe production at minimum cost. This position reports to the Mine Captain and will be on a rotational basis of 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off.

The successful incumbent will provide leadership and direction to the operational mining team to ensure compliance with safety, environment and security standards, and optimize safe production at minimum cost. KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Lead the shift personnel to work safely at all times, and develop and promote a safe and healthy work environment
• Ensure all personnel are aware of BGML safety and environmental policies and procedures, and ensure compliance at all times
• Ensure all Operational Safe Work Procedures are adhered to at all times
• Establish clear lines of communication with Maintenance personnel to ensure machinery operation is optimised at all times
• Provide effective on the job training and coaching to ensure all employees, including Trainee Shift Bosses, gain new skills and achieve their maximum potential, and take appropriate action when substandard performance or behavior is observed
• Assist to achieve and sustain production targets
• Mentoring the Tanzanian Trainee Shift Bosses

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Education Requirements:
• High School Certificate or Intermediary
Experience Requirements:
• A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role
• A minimum of 5 years Alimak experience
• Strong Leadership and Organizational skills
• Previous International experience would be an asset
• Previous training experience would be an asset
