Business Advisor Workstation: Marie Stopes Kenya Support Office, Nairobi with constant visit to the field sites Reports to: AHME Project Manager Salary: Kshs. 125,000 Purpose of the job To provide technical and administrative support to the African Health Markets for Equity networks to ensure efficient and effective management of the credit component of the AHME Program. The main role of the Business Advisor is to assist with and/or implement all activities pertaining to the credit component of AHME as per the detailed Medical Credit Fund (MCF) AHME Flowchart in close coordination with the MCF Program Manager in the country.
Responsibilities 1. Identification of health facilities in the AHME partners’ networks that might be eligible for credit delivery. 2. Upon positive intake as per relevant Selection Criteria, conclude the signing of a Participation Agreement with the facility. 3. In cooperation with the networks’ Quality Advisors produce the Situational Analysis Plus document. 4. Write an Expert Opinion on the facility and have it approved by MCF. 5. Upon approval assist the facility in applying for an Entry Loan with the MCF’s partner bank. 6. Upon loan approval and disbursement facilitate the Quality Advisors’ production of a SafeCare Entry Assessment and a subsequent Quality Upgrade Plan. 7. Provide business training to participating health facilities. 8. Produce a Business Plan for and with the facility and have it approved by MCF. 9. Upon approval thereof assist the facility in applying for a Medium Loan with the MCF’s partner bank. Qualifications • BSc Business Administration or equivalent from a recognised university. • MBA or post graduate qualification in Management, Accounting or Finance is desirable
Working Experience • At least three years post qualification experience in the financial sector. • Management experience in the health sector. • Experience in microfinance or SME lending is major added advantage.
