Unit Trust of Tanzania Credit Officer

Reports to:Senior Manager-Operations

Purpose of the Job

Ensuring error free issuance of loans to customers in line with the approved processes 'policies. Meeting with clients, evaluating them, advising them transparently about the details of our products, finalize the loan applications and entering data into the system,

Key duties and responsibilities:

Meet with applicants/clients, receive loan applications and respond to inquiries in respect to product features, loan eligibility, and application processes;

Prepares loan application and submit it to the Loan Committee for further action;

Doing loan orientation to customers and sell the existing products to prospective customers;

Compiles business information, analyze and provide recommendation; this will include applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loans;

Explain to customers the different types of products, loans and credit options that are available, as well as the applicable terms and conditions;

Monitors issuance of loans and ensure full recovery; vii. Review and update credit and loan files;

Review loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to applicable policies; ix. Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them;

In conjunction with senior managers; recommend review and updates of products, credit policies, procedures and standards; xi. Perform any other duties as would be assigned by supervisor/senior officers from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience:

The holder of this position must have at least a diploma, a first degree or its equivalent in any of the following fields; community development, Agro business, Agriculture or Business Administration.

Experience:At least 1 year of practical work experience. Experience in reputable Microfinance or Banking Institutions will be an added advantage.
