The management of EWSA would like to inform the public that it is recruiting suitable and qualified staff on posts of SOCIAL ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST and an ENVIRONMENTAL SAFEGUARDS SPECIALIST for the Electricity Access Scale-up Roll-out Program (EARP).
SOCIAL ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST(1)
Responsibilities & Duties
1) Familiarize himself/herself with the environ
mental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) and the Resettlement
Policy Framework (RPF) for the program. (These public documents are available to applicants upon request);
2) Monitor implementation and recommend improvements as needed to either framework during program implementation;
3) Monitor the progress of program investments in terms of meeting social development concerns;
4) Carry out social assessment analysis to ensure program compliance with the requirements of the social development concerns through throughout program implementation.
Required qualification & experience
1) University degree in social sciences, and at least 2 years of progressively senior experience in identifying and mitigating social risks in projects;
2)Thorough understanding of World Bank social safeguards policies, including involuntary resettlement (OP4.12);
3) Demonstrated experience with civil society organizations;
4) Familiarity with social and economic conditions prevailing in Rwanda or similar African countries;
5) Familiarity with social policies and laws and regulations of Rwanda related to land acquisition and resettlement and;
6)Should ideally be fluent in English, French and Kinyarwanda.
